Priorities 2014-2015
1. Improve attainment and progress in writing and maths to close identified attainment gaps, especially boys’ writing. Establish new principles and practices in the assessment of all subjects, and ensure that the use of data/assessment findings are used to inform learners’ next steps.
2. (i) Improve the quality of teaching and learning so that no teaching is less than good, and much is outstanding. Ensure teachers are implementing the requirements under the new SEN Code of Practice.
(ii) Evaluate progress with the implementation of the new national curriculum 2014 so that all groups of pupils are fully engaged as learners; enjoying a depth and a breadth of cognitive challenge in lessons, and developing identified learning habits.
3. Review provision for Religious Education in all classes, including EPR and the school’s approach to other faiths. Consider more closely how children’s human development is enhanced through curriculum provision.
4. Further develop the school’s capacity for leadership by coaching the four teachers in undertaking accredited courses for leadership. Link leadership actions to the highest standards of personal development, learning and attainment for all pupils.
