School Lunch
All London students are now entitled to free school meals and lunch at Holy Ghost takes place between 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm.
Harrisons, our catering contractor, uses high quality, fresh local food which is cooked in the kitchen by our own school chef, Lydia.

If your child has a specific allergy or dietary requirement, please let us know by completing the attached form and emailing the school at office@holyghost.wandsworth.sch.uk
Packed Lunch
Children are also welcome to bring a packed lunch if they prefer. We are a nut free school, so please ensure that there are no products with nuts in your child’s lunch. Please use a lunchbox or cool bag that is clearly labelled with your child’s name and make sure drinks are in leak proof plastic bottles.
It is very important that children have a well balanced lunch to help them to continue with their learning once they are back in their classrooms for the afternoon.
As a Healthy School we operate the “traffic light” system with regard to lunch boxes and what they should contain. The packed lunch should also include a bottle of plain water (not fruit juice of any kind); water is also available to all the children in the dining hall.
Red –One item only.
Amber –Food that is good for you, but should be eaten in moderation. This food group is important for energy, calcium and protein.
Green - Important for essential vitamins and can be eaten freely.

Access to water
The children are encouraged to drink water every day. All classes have access to drinking water. We remind children to bring in their water bottles to school every day, especially when the weather is warm.
Free School Meals Grant
Whilst free school meals are now extended to all primary pupils in London, we still need our parents to register their child for the Free School Meals grant if you think you are eligible.
Registering could raise an extra £1,345 per child for Holy Ghost Primary School from central government to fund valuable support like extra tuition, learning assistants or after school clubs.
